Flower Child & OOTD

Sunny Autumn weather, a new outfit and brunch at a new café with a fab friend. No complaints here!

The weather in Sydney has quite quickly changed from the sweltering 30+degree weeks that we had in January and February. However the sun is still here and I am loving the autumn weather now!

Yesterday I had brunch at a new café in Chatswood called Flower Child. I love the decor! Looks like you are inside an adorable greenhouse with hanging plants hovering above your head making it a cosy sanctuary. The space is designed by Acme & Co, the studio that also designed The Grounds of Alexandria, and it is clear to see that playful and whimsical influence. They have done very well to use the small space and also manage to somehow make you forget you are in the middle of Chatswood Westfield shops.

Then there’s the food. The menu looked amazing and they serve all day breakfast. TICK! Anywhere that has all day breakfast is a winner in my books! Everything that came out of the kitchen was presented with care and taste and looked delicious. Catherine and I both had to go for the French Toast, and I can tell you I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. With a swipe of caramel on the side, cinnamon throughout and topped with berries and flowers it did not fail to deliver.

Great food, gorgeous setting and a super adorable name – I would definitely recommend paying Flower Child a visit if you are in the area.

I love this outfit at the moment. The rust colour screams autumn but is still quite summery which is perfect for the weather at the moment. Rust as a colour was something I used to avoid but I have been in love with flowy rust coloured tops at the moment and so when I saw this Tree of Life top I just had to get it! It has a cut out at the back and along the shoulders and just hangs really well. I love the detail on the front too. As for the white jeans, I have seen so many people rocking this trend but I admit I was a little scared (I mean white skinny jeans, not many places to hide there!) but I thought I’d give them a go and I really love the fit of these ones from Sportsgirl with rips in the knees. We’ll see how long they remain sparkling white for!

WHAT I WORE:

Top: Tree of Life
Jeans: Sportsgirl
Sandals: Windsor Smith
Hair clip: ASOS
Sunglasses: Sportsgirl
Watch: Lovisa

Florence

Florence is a truly beautiful city. A city with a breathtaking skyline at any time of day viewed from  the high point on the city – Piazzale Michelangelo. A place where everything seems somehow more romantic and fairytale-like.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Today is Mother’s Day; a day to spoil mums everywhere to celebrate all that they do for their children and family. I don’t know about you but I often forget to thank my mum for the things she does, not only for me but for all those around her. Mum’s do a lot! I know that it sounds like I’m ignoring the fact that other people work hard and are super busy too but there is something more that comes with being a mum, at least that’s what I think! I’m talking about all those little things like getting up early to make lunches for you everyday for 12 years, driving you all over the place (I promise I’ll get my licence soon mum!!) and making sure that you are surviving whatever life throws at you. I have been blessed with an incredibly caring mum and I couldn’t be more thankful for her love and friendship.

Birthday Dinner at The Pantry

A few months ago now, my family and I celebrated my birthday with a dinner at The Pantry in Manly. The Pantry is a little restaurant perched on the edge of Manly Beach in Sydney and has beautiful views of the ocean interrupted only by those enjoying the beach.

It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it is a beautiful spot at any of these times but spending the evening there on a clear summers night is just gorgeous and I couldn’t help but feel completely and utterly relaxed watching the evening surfers catch the last waves of the day as the sun set.

ChampagneBeing at the beach anywhere in Sydney at dusk makes me incredibly happy, so I guess I was a little influenced by that, but the food was delicious and the atmosphere was particularly pleasant.

I definitely recommend The Pantry for anyone looking for good food, good service and a good vibe.
